The guidelines are as follows:
1. We are seeking poems on motherhood, defined very broadly. Poems that relate to mothering from any point of view are welcomed, including poems by men, children, grandmothers, etc.

2. Our submissions are now closed

Thank you for your patience. After several setbacks, editor computer crashes, and illnesses, we are now actively editing and formatting the anthology Please do not write to us. We are in the process of sending out acceptance letters and it just slows us down. We welcome Rachelle Yousef our new apprentice.

3. Submissions should be pasted into the body of an email and mailed to:

The Motherhood Project

Please include your name, address, phone number, and email address. It is helpful to include a brief cover letter with your work.

4. Poems longer than 2 pages must hold the reader’s interest throughout; acceptance of these poems will be the exception, rather than the rule.

5. Previously published poems are welcome, however we ask that once your poem has been accepted by us, you refrain from submitting it elsewhere.

6. Once your poem has been accepted, we will contact you for a biography at a later date. It is not necessary to provide a biography at the time of submission.

7. We welcome new poets as well as seasoned writers; the quality of your work will be our only consideration.
